NOTES
Please note that this award is restricted to students who intend to spend a year in Israel for Torah study either as part of a programme (e.g. MTA) or enrolled individually.
Acceptance by an institution in Israel is a condition of the Award. You will need to confirm that you have been accepted in your institution of choice.
Applications will only be accepted from students seeking to study at institutions having a positive attitude to Medinat Yisrael.

Applicants must find three referees who will provide a supportive referral. The referee must be either a teacher and/or an administrator at the school that you are attending. You will need to tell your referees to complete their referrals on line on the Referee Tab on this website. The referees must complete their referrals prior to 25th July 2025 or your application will not be further considered.
An important aspect of the Award is service to the Melbourne community upon the return home of the successful applicant. Details are sought as to the service that the candidate envisages undertaking and the name of a mentor who has agreed to give the candidate the necessary supervision and guidance in that year. You will need this information to complete the application form.

It is understood that a candidate’s interests may change during the course of their year in Israel. Should this be the case, please use the Contact Us form on this website to be in touch with us.
Parents will be required to submit financial information to support their request for a scholarship by no later than 25th July, 2025. Copies of tax returns and other relevant financial information will need to be submitted. Parents will need to fill in the information on Parents Financial tab.

The total estimated cost of a year in Israel is in the order of $35 - $40,000 at current exchange rates. This includes the actual programme, airfares, insurance and spending money. The Scholarship covers only up to $20,000. The applicant will be required to apply for the MASA and ZFA Go Israel grants and will need to advise us of the amount they have been awarded as soon as they find out.
it is necessary for the candidates family to meet the balance of the cost. The scholarship will not be granted to someone unless the balance of the funds have been guaranteed in full. The parent(s) are required to acknowledge that they will be responsible for meeting the balance of the cost AND are requested to provide the name of an independent guarantor who will guarantee any payments required to ensure the candidate can complete their year in Israel. The Guarantor will be required to complete the Guarantors tab on this website. The scholarship will not be granted to a candidate unless the balance of funds have been guaranteed in full by an external guarantor.
It is expected that the successful applicant will take up his/her place in Israel during the 2026 calendar year.
Please use the Contact Us form to contact us whenever you need to tell us something.
